In order to complete this project, here is the list of tasks that you need to do:
1. Work in a groups of TWO.
2. Gather references and make notes on the following aspects:
i. What is the meaning of Numerical Literacy
ii. What is the meaning of’problem’ and ‘problem solving’?
iii. What are ‘routine ‘ and ‘non-routine; problems? (Give an example of each type of problem)
iv. With the help of a table compare and contrast the two types of problems.
3. In Mathematics there are various models that can be used to help us solve problems. Many strategies have been devised to help us solve various types of problems.
4. Choose four different non-routine problems. Solve these problems using problems strategies that have been discussed.
5. Create three different non-routine problems and solve each one using different strategies.
6. A the end of your coursework, submit a report including a reflection on:
• Your experiences in doing the coursework.
• Difficulties faced when determining the ‘problem’ and ‘problem solving’
• How the coursework helped your understanding of problem’ and ‘problem solving’
• The importance of problem’ and ‘problem solving’ in everyday life.
7. Format of your written report must be:

ii. 1.5 line spacing
iii. Quote references using APA format
iv. Type using computer
